ft: Seven Lions

It’s not always about finding the wettest behind-the-ear, up-and-coming 16 yr-old artist…sometimes there are producers that came out way back when and just so happen to still be killin’ it. (see; KASKADE, Flume, Bassnectar, Pretty Lights, etc…)

One of those DJs for me is Seven Lions.
And with 3.65M followers on Soundcloud alone, he sure isn’t hurting for any more blog coverage. Doesn’t bother me any, because he just released yet another beautiful track showcasing that classic bass-heavy, dreamscapy glitch sound that I can only ever seem to find from a few people that’s done so well.

One of the first artists to get me into genres like dubstep and trance, I will always have a soft spot in my heart and ears for his tunes.

Some artists are just like a fine wine ya’ know? Enjoy his newest single and one of his best remixes below. Thanks for reading.

Right then. Right when you’ve exhausted the 29th trap instrumental, or the 9th #future song being reposted in your Soundcloud feed (all of which sound the same). Right when you’ve listened to the same build/drop again and again in every poor rendition of already established artist ripoffs you can tolerate, that’s when it happens…

That New-New.

That new song, that new artist.
That new found soundbyte that is just 4 minutes full of whatever je ne sais quoi it is about it that makes you go, 🙌🏽 🙌🏽.

That’s what happened to me about a week ago when I stumbled across the silky smooth sounds of ‘N i G H T S‘.
Think early Craig David; suave/pop vocals…meets bounce, plus bass. And a little something extra I can’t quite put my finger on…so I just downloaded their songs (for free) instead 🙃.
Here are my top tracks from the up and coming duo:

Thanks for reading, stay gold.

ft. ARDENCY

ARDENCY.jpg

‘Ardent’–adjective;
1. having, expressive of, or characterized by intense feeling; passionate; fervent:an ardent vow; ardent love. 2. vehement; fierce. 3. burning, fiery, or hot: the ardent core of a star“.

Appropriate, I think.
Yes, it is cheesy to define words and artist names, but words are all we have… wouldn’t you agree?
Words mean a lot to me (or at least I think they do).But sometimes, words fall short. Ever feel something you literally couldn’t describe?
Some people have the incredible capability of conveying their emotions via sound and other electromagnetic waves~

Apply the definition of Ardency to their most recent EP ‘For You, Only‘, and I would gather that these guys feel some type of way about the music they put out.

Personally I have been a fan of Ardency since I first heard their unforgettable 2 track EP: ‘Gradience’. Two plus years later, they are crossing over genres and creating a niche for themselves betwixt edm goers and indie fans alike. Now, with an even more defined sound that spans a multitude of decades, one would find it nearly impossible to try and fit them in any kind of box.

And that’s that shit we do like.
Thanks for reading, enjoy.

ft. Justin Hartinger

Unique.

The definition of unique is: ‘being the only one of its kind; unlike anything else‘.

Enter Justin Hartinger…

In thinking of other artists to liken his sound to, or use as a reference of what to expect when listening to the Seattle-based Producer & DJ, I came up with nothing. My mind went totally blank. This is usually a good sign when discovering new music from an artist.

If you check Justins’ Soundcloud, his creations are self-described as, “emotional dance music”.

I couldn’t agree more.

Whether it’s the (very dark) Darknet EP–collaborated with by one of my absolute favorites, LEViT∆TE.–his bouncy, trap-like twist on the new house classic ‘Don’t Go‘ by the other Justin (Justin Martin) or one of his many other singles that have brought new life to my headphones and speakers…it’s undeniable that Justin Hartinger was put on earth to make good music for you to feel to.

Below all these words are my current top picks of all Justin’s gems  (almost all of which are available for free via TONEDEN here).

Thanks for tuning in guys, I have nothing but love and appreciation for you.

Enjoy.

ft. Andrew Luce

If music can’t save us what can?

Okay, maybe that is a little dramatic–but what can I say, I am a Nasty, nasty Woman.
Moving on…

You know what I think we all miss? #TRVP. That’s right. Good Old-Fashioned trap music.

If you don’t quite know what Trap is, it’s basically the electronic version of popular (or throwback) rap songs. Plus it’s so much fun to dance to.

Andrew Luce is probably one of the most underrated and upcoming musicians in Electronic right now. Decide for yourself:

That remix of Kid Cudi is available for free by clicking here.
I’d like to stop there but I won’t. If that tickled your fancy, this track is one of my current faves, ft. the unique sound of Ms. Chelsea Cutler.

It’s that day of the week again…and is it just me or are they flying by? Probably because it’s the end of summer and that means a bunch of us are grasping at last minute hangs with friends and fam we never actually chilled with at all in the last two months, and festivals are smashing out the last of their dedicated and financially stable campers to any stage they can light a fire on…that being said, it’s a emotionally charged time of year for all those involved.

Here is a dope playlist to impress your homies with while you throwback brews and smoke endless cigarettes on your front porch waiting for the heat to fuck the fuck off.

Artwork courtesy of HXV one of the artists featured on our weekly playlist below, we like to give thanks to those who understand that Art is made to be shared with the world, word up! Stay well friends~

Future Fridaze Vol. 010

This week has been an introspective one to say the least…it is really incredible how everyday seems to be “the same” at times, but then you remember to look over your shoulder, and holy **** ToTo we’re not in Kansas anymore!

Music is the best at that, constantly changing and striving for the unthinkable.
Those are the artists I am currently focused on, because I don’t know if you were all aware, but the songs we are currently listening to are becoming the soundtracks of our lives…let’s make sure it’s a good playlist huh?

Have a safe & lovely weekend guys, enjoy some lighthearted, and heavy tunes this long weekend.

I’m pretty sure this image of Eazy-E wasn’t taken by smith. –listen below 🔥– however, his track is bass-heavy and also free to download via TONEDEN<3 right here, so we’re gonna honor this picture of one of the baddest motherfuckers to grace this beautiful planet earth. Peace~

It’s still hot as **** everywhere in California, but school’s are back in sesh and these summer nights are starting to need a bonfire and an IPA in the late hours.

But- that doesn’t mean the party has to stop.
Not with this week’s playlist at least…

We’re feeling really good right about now, so all of these tracks have been inspired to do the same for you and those you love.So enjoy sounds by the likes of Hex Cougar, dabow, Cavalier, What So Not, and Buku.

It’s been quite some time since I found an artist that wooed me with all of their tracks.

Enter: JKuch.

I personally haven’t stopped listening to Wood On Fire for days. And his remix of  A-1 & Carmack’s ‘BRE’ will have you head-bobbing at bare minimum. All of his songs are available for FREE, (just a couple clicks on his Soundcloud) and be sure to check back regularly for any updates, because this is one producer we have our eyes & ears fixed on.
